Dr Jason Gaymans (Chiropractor, Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist) studied the below mentioned courses at the Durban University of Technology (D.U.T) from 1994-2001.
In his Masters thesis Dr Jason Gaymans (Chiropractor, Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist) researched the efficacy of adjusting foot and ankle fixations in the treatment of sub acute and chronic Achilles Tendonitis. He found that if one mobilized fixated segments of the foot and ankle he could significantly reduce stress and strain in the Achilles tendon leading to a greater recovery in the treatment group when compared with the control group.
This had never been researched before and until then it was thought that Achilles tendinitis was only treatable by soft tissue manipulation. He was invited to present his research at the 7th Biennial FCER World Chiropractic Congress in New Orleans in 2003. The abstract of his paper has since been published by the Journal of bone and Joint Disease, and he is awaiting publication in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (J.M.P.T).
